We were contacted by an individual who was an ongoing victim of an investment scam. What started out as some subtle flirting through LinkedIn turned into an “investing” adventure.
SITUATION
The victim invested over €500,000.00 and thought that he made a significant profit with his investment. It was vital that the victim was still in contact with scammers when he discovered that he was scammed.
OUR WORK
We instantly started working on the case, where we deployed several tactics to recover the assets. These tactics included following the crypto assets across several blockchains, setting up covert services, OSINT analyses, deep searches, device identifications, etc.
OUTCOME
Through our investigation we found several cases that were being investigated by one of the major European law enforcement agencies. Together we were able to freeze and recover over 30,000,000.00€.
EXCHANGE FUNDS UNLOCKED AFTER MONTHS OF DELAYS

The exchange communicated with the individual on a daily basis for several months, but the issue remained unresolved. After losing patience, the individual decided to contact us.

We immediately started planning the course of action with the client. In the end, we decided to reach out directly to one of our senior contacts at the crypto exchange.
OUTCOME
Through our conversations with the exchange, we cleared up the concerns they had on their side. All frozen funds were released to the client three days after we were contacted.
